All notifications in Hive pop up in the bell in the upper right corner of the screen.

However, if you want to know what's going on in Hive outside the app, Hive can let you know.

Where can Hive send you notifications?

  • Desktop

  • Mobile

  • Email

What can you get notifications about?

  • Unread messages

  • Updates to actions you follow

  • @mentions

  • Proofing requests

  • Timesheet reminders

  • Upcoming deadlines

  • Resource assignments

Hive can also send you notifications when you are away from the app.

If you are logged in and haven't interacted with the app recently, your status will change and Hive will send you email and mobile notifications. That way you can be sure that you are updated on everything your team is doing.

If you don't want to receive notifications when you away from the app, you can change those settings.

When does my status change?

Your status will change from active to away after 10 minutes of inactivity. Your status will switch to offline when you've closed out of the app entirely.

How do I change my settings?

Click on the profile icon in the upper right corner of the app and select "Edit Profile" and then "Notification Settings"

This will open a modal that looks like this:

Audio notification settings:

To add more urgency to your meeting alerts, messages, action assignments, and @mentions, you can enable audio notifications in Hive.

Do you feel overwhelmed by multiple group chat notifications?

No problem! Hive offers an option to only see the orange notification bubble if you are @mentioned or if @group is used.

This will help minimize distraction from multiple group chats, allowing you to spend more time prioritizing your work on a project rather than scrolling through messages.

To enable this setting, select it as a preference under the "Messaging" section.
