So often we have repetitive or maintenance tasks that we have to do every day, week, or month.
It could be a monthly meeting you need to set up, a weekly time sheet you have to submit, or a daily client call.
It's so easy to forget these repetitive tasks. That's why Hive allows you to repeat actions so you always have a reminder.
Here's how to set one up:
Create an action
Click the date icon
Click the "Set recurring" link
4. Choose how often you want the action to repeat
5. Set up the specific setting of your recurring action
Then you're done!
Now an action will appear on your list each day, week, month, or year reminding you to do this action. As soon as you finish it, the next one will be added to your list.

Troubleshooting Common Issues with Recurring Actions
'Set Recurring' Option is Greyed Out
If the 'set recurring' option is greyed out and you cannot edit a recurring action, it may be due to the project or action being deleted. Recurring actions are tied to their parent project, so if the project is deleted, the associated recurring actions will also be removed and cannot be modified further. Ensure that the project is active and has not been deleted before attempting to edit the recurring action.
Save Button is Disabled When Changing Recurrence Frequency
When changing a recurring task to a weekly or another frequency, the Save button may be disabled if a specific day of the week has not been selected. To resolve this, go to the recurrence settings and choose a day (e.g., Monday, Tuesday, etc.) for the task to recur. Once a day is selected, the Save button will be enabled, allowing you to save the changes.
Tips for Managing Recurring Actions Effectively
Plan Ahead: Clearly define the recurrence pattern (daily, weekly, etc.) before setting up the action.
Verify Project Status: Ensure the parent project is active to avoid issues with recurring actions.
Double-Check Settings: Always review the recurrence settings, including the selected days, to ensure the task behaves as expected. By following these guidelines and troubleshooting steps, you can effectively manage recurring actions in Hive and ensure your tasks are automated seamlessly.
