Setting up the Adobe Integration

Our new Adobe Integration allows you to access your Hive assets directly from Adobe PhotoShop and InDesign.

To get started, open Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop. Navigate to InDesign or Photoshop.

Note: Adding plugins must be done in the desktop app, not web browser.

In the overhead menu, select Plug-Ins -> Browse Plugins.

Search for Hive "Search All Plugins" with Photoshop and InDesign toggled on.

Select "Install" the desired app(s) to start the download process. Once downloaded, navigate back to the main Photoshop or InDesign desktop app.

You will be prompted with a Hive sign in window and permission request. Select "Allow" and navigate to the Hive link with the provided sign-in code.

Once signed in, your workspace will be visible within Photoshop or InDesign.

The default view is all actions assigned to you in all projects. This can be changed to specific filters similar to List View in Hive.

Note: Currently, only actions assigned to you are accessible.

Uploading through InDesign or Photoshop

To upload directly from your Adobe Creative Cloud, navigate to your desired file in Adobe.

Attachments

From the file, in Hive, click an action card and scroll to "Attachments".

Select "Upload from InDesign (or Photoshop)" to choose files directly from Adobe.

Confirm the file type as Adobe PDF (Interactive) and attach. The selected file will automatically upload into Hive.

Proofs

From the file, in Hive, click an action card and scroll to "Approvals".

Select "Add proof" in a new or existing Approval round. The following menu will appear:

Select "Add proof". An Adobe window with more specifications will open. Once confirmed, click "Export" to upload directly into Hive.

Editing Files

The plugin also allows you to make changes directly in Adobe while reviewing feedback from Hive’s proofing tool side-by-side.

When editing files in Adobe, any changes sync to Hive instantly, meaning all comments, annotations, and edits sync to Hive in real time.
