If your team is using Hive Teams, you will have the option to purchase any of our add-on features. These add-ons are a great way to expand your usage of Hive, consolidate work into one platform, and improve your overall workflows.

To access add-ons, navigate to Hive Apps, accessible from your Hive panel, and toggle on the apps you'd like to use. You will be able to test them all for 14 days.

To help you calculate your add-on pricing, we've added a great pricing calculator to our Hive Pricing page, accessible here. Just scroll down to the bottom half of the page, and you'll see it on the left.

If you want to purchase add-ons, here are a few things to note:

  • All team members will have access to the add-on

  • Add-ons are charged as an additional cost on top of your Hive licenses

    • For example: If you're on Hive Teams annual ($12), and add our External User add-on ($5), the license cost for each teammate would be $17 per user.

  • Add-ons can be accessed via Hive Apps, and enabled or turned off at any time

Ahead, we will break down our most popular add-ons and provide additional information.

External Users

  • Add-on price of $5, which is added to each license in Hive. If you have a user cost of $12 for Hive Teams annual, adding this add-on will bring it to $17 per user

  • The external user add-on will give your team 5 external users per paying licenses in Hive.

    • If you have 4 teammates in Hive with Hive licenses, and you add the external users add-on, you will be allotted 20 external users (4 users * 5)

  • Using Hive's external users, you can invite individuals to collaborate on projects within Hive.

  • External users are limited to the actions and messages within the assigned project and do not have access to your entire workspace.

  • External users must be outside of your organization

  • Admins will be able to approve, vet, and request changes to timesheets in Hive. More information on that here.

  • Timesheets is different than time tracking, which is a free functionality available within each Hive action card. To elaborate:

    • Time tracking lets users log durations on individual tasks (or action cards) and categorize entries for team analysis and reporting. Logs can be accessed via a basic report.

    • The Timesheets add-on aggregates these entries to produce consolidated reports, introduces submission workflows for employees to log hours for specific periods, and provides managers with tools to review, approve, or reject these submissions. Additionally, it allows for easier payroll integrations through export options.

    • Basic time tracking is recommended for monitoring task-level time usage, while Timesheets is particularly suited for teams needing structured workflows and payroll processing features.
