A new icon sidebar runs along the left side of your action card, giving you shortcuts to sections such as Description, Subactions, Labels, Attachments, and Comments.

Hover over an icon to see its section name, then click to jump straight to it. Available shortcuts reflect the sections shown on your card.

The sidebar appears when your browser window is wide enough. On a narrow window it is hidden; widen the window to bring it back.

A long project name in the colored bar at the top of the card is shortened so it fits.

Hover the link icon beside the name to see the full project name. That icon also opens the project.

Collapse sections you don’t need right now to create a more focused view of your action.

Click the arrow beside a section heading to hide its contents. The heading stays visible—click the arrow again to expand it. Your information stays saved while the section is collapsed.

Collapsing is only for you, while you have the card open. It does not hide the section for teammates, and it does not change which sections are saved in Action card layout. The next time you open the card, sections start expanded again.

Click Customize (gear on the left icon sidebar, or in the ⋯ More menu) to open Action card layout.

Show or hide sections such as Description, Subactions, Custom fields, Labels, and enabled apps (for example Time tracking or Approvals), then save.

Unlike collapsing a section, a saved layout is shared. It applies to this action only—teammates see the same sections when they open it. Other action cards keep their own layout. New actions start with the default layout unless a template or workflow sets one.

Layouts also travel with templates. If you customize an action in a project template

(or set a layout on an action template) so certain sections stay hidden, then apply that template, the new actions inherit the same layout.

That’s a good way to give different cards in a project different visible sections—for example, a lightweight intake card versus a fuller delivery card.

Which sections appear in the layout list depends on the Hive apps and features enabled for your workspace (and what’s available on the project you’re in).

Attachments and Comments stay available when present; they aren’t toggled in Action card layout.

Your action’s assignees, dates, status, and priority remain together in the right-hand panel, keeping those details easy to access as you navigate the card.

Depending on your project and workspace settings, you may also see Section (to place the action in a project section) and options like Snooze, share, archive, or delete near the bottom of the panel.

The ⋯ More menu still holds card actions beyond Customize—for example marking the action urgent or as a milestone, requesting an action update, adding it to a timeline, or viewing description history.
