Dashboard Heatmaps can use formula-based values alongside the rows and columns you already track. This helps you compare calculated results visually while keeping the same pivot-style setup.
Add a formula value to a Heatmap
Open the dashboard and select the Heatmap widget you want to edit.
In the widget’s data settings, choose the Row and Column fields that organize the heatmap.
Add a Value field that contains the calculation you want to visualize.
Save the widget, then review the colors and values in the heatmap.
When several Value fields are visible, the heatmap uses the last visible Value field for its displayed values and color scale. Formula values are calculated after the pivot data loads, so the widget can reflect the calculation in the selected configuration.
Plan your setup
You need permission to edit the dashboard and access to the data and custom fields used by the widget. Start with a formula and fields that are already available in the Heatmap picker, then verify the results against the underlying work data.
Important limitation
Exported heatmap output can use a different chart rendering path from the on-screen widget. Before relying on an export for reporting, compare it with the heatmap in Hive. Some formula custom fields may not be available in every picker configuration, so avoid assuming every formula field can be selected.
