Send, share, and sign a proposal

Share an acceptance link or send with DocuSign, regenerate Word content, request review on an action card, and download a PDF

Written by Ellen Kajca

From a proposal’s Content view you can regenerate draft text, request internal review on an action card, share an acceptance link, send for e-signature with DocuSign, or download a PDF after the proposal is no longer editable.

Regenerate text

For Word-based proposal drafts, use Regenerate text when the document should be rebuilt from the current opportunity and template. Confirm only if you are ready to replace the current draft — existing edits can be lost.

Request review on an action card

  1. Open a draft proposal that already has Word content.

  2. Select Request review.

  3. Hive creates an ordinary action card for the review and opens it so you can assign people and run approvals.

The proposal Content view shows a review status row that opens the same card. If that card was deleted while the proposal is still editable, select Request review again to create a new one. For comments and tracked changes inside the Word document, see Review a Word document in Hive.

Share an acceptance link

  1. Open the proposal in Hive CRM.

  2. Select Content.

  3. Select Share, then use the share controls to create or copy the acceptance link.

  4. Send the link to your recipient, or paste it into another message.

Hive creates an acceptance link only after the share action succeeds. If the link cannot be created, Hive shows an error and no shareable link is available.

Manage the acceptance link

  • Use Copy to reuse the current acceptance link.

  • Use Revoke when the recipient should no longer have access.

  • Review the proposal status after the recipient responds.

After a proposal is shared or otherwise locked for editing, select Download PDF from Content view to save a PDF of the current proposal.

Send with DocuSign

Binding proposals can use DocuSign for e-signature instead of (or in addition to) an acceptance link. DocuSign is not available for estimates. Before you prepare an envelope, connect your DocuSign account from the proposal (one-time per user).

  1. Open a binding proposal in Content view.

  2. If DocuSign is not connected yet, open the DocuSign menu and select Connect DocuSign, then finish authentication in DocuSign.

  3. Select Review and send with DocuSign.

  4. In Prepare in DocuSign, confirm the signer and select Continue to DocuSign.

  5. Finish placing fields and sending the envelope in DocuSign.

While DocuSign is in progress, the proposal shows statuses such as Preparing and Signed as the envelope moves forward.

After the proposal is accepted or signed, content is read-only so the agreed version stays intact. Create a new proposal when you need a later change.
