Create an Asset with a linked Copy document

Create an Asset and linked Copy document together so your team can prepare content, collect feedback, and manage approvals in one workflow.

Written by Ellen Kajca

Link an Asset to a Copy document when the file or creative work and the written content need to move through review together.

Create the linked workspace

  1. Create an Asset action.

  2. Choose to add a linked Copy document during setup.

  3. Open the Copy document from the linked action.

  4. Add content, reviewers, and approval rules for the work.

The Copy document opens in its own workspace while retaining the linked Asset context. Use the fixed toolbar at the top of the Copy editor for formatting and editing tools while you work.

Review and approve work

  • Add more than one file to a proof when needed.

  • Set approval rules for the Copy document separately from the Asset.

  • Resolve reviewer suggestions before approving the Copy document.

Standard action permissions control who can create and work with the Asset and linked Copy. If Hive cannot create either part of the workflow, it shows an error instead of creating an incomplete linked setup. Copy approval stays blocked while reviewer suggestions are unresolved, so the team can finish requested changes before approving.
