Matrix view gives you a focused way to prioritize project actions across selected sections. Each section becomes a column, so you can compare work side by side and move actions as priorities change.
Create a Matrix view
Open a project.
Select the + beside the project tabs.
Under Project views, select Matrix.
Enter a view name.
Optional: turn on Private view if the view should be visible only to you.
Select Add.
Choose the Matrix sections
When the view opens, select Configure Matrix. You can also open the view configuration panel later to update its sections.
Under Matrix sections, choose up to four project sections. Selected sections must have distinct names.
Drag the section handles to set their order. The first selected section appears in the leftmost column.
Use the color picker beside a section to choose its column color.
Each column header shows the section name and its current action count.
Work with actions
Open an action: Select an action card to view or edit its details.
Add an action: Select Add action at the bottom of a column, enter the title, and press Enter.
Reorder actions: Drag an action higher or lower within the same column.
Move actions between sections: Drag an action into another column. This changes the action’s project section.
Update several actions: Select multiple action cards to open the bulk-action toolbar.
Filter the Matrix
Use the view filters to narrow which actions appear. The selected Matrix sections still define the columns; filters control which matching actions are shown inside them

Permissions
People with permission to edit the project can add, reorder, and move actions. People with read-only access can view the Matrix and open actions, but cannot create or move them.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Matrix empty?
Select Configure Matrix and choose at least one project section. If sections are already selected, review the view filters and confirm those sections contain matching actions.
How many columns can I add?
You can display up to four project sections in one Matrix view.
Does moving an action change the project?
No. Moving an action between Matrix columns keeps it in the same project and changes its section.
Why can’t I add or move actions?
Your project access may be read-only. Ask a project owner or workspace admin if you need editing access.
