Use a Location custom field to save a precise place on an action or project. For example, you can use it for a client site, event venue, office, or delivery location.
Create a Location custom field
Open your workspace settings and select Custom Fields.
Choose whether to create an Action or Project custom field.
Select Location as the field type.
Enter a name for the field, then save it.
After you create the field, turn it on for the projects where your team needs it.
Add a location
Open an action or project with the Location field, then choose one of these options:
Search for an address: Start typing an address or place name and select a result from the suggestions.
Enter coordinates: Enter latitude and longitude, separated by a comma or a space, such as
40.7128, -74.0060.Pick a point on a map: Select the map icon, search for a place or move the pin, then save your selection.
Edit or remove a location
Select the location name to rename its display label. Select the map icon to change the pinned location, or select the clear icon to remove it. Removing a location does not delete the action, project, or custom field itself.
Where you can use Location fields
Location custom fields are available on actions and projects. You can also display and work with them in supported project and action views, including List, Table, Gantt, Timeline, and Portfolio views.
Notes
Hive saves the location name and its map coordinates, so the location remains tied to the selected place.
A Location field must be filled by selecting a suggestion, entering valid coordinates, or choosing a point on the map.
Location custom fields are not currently supported in Hive Forms.
