With Labels, you are able to categorize your actions for easy viewing.
This is how you can create a label in Hive.
Go to your Avatar, and click on "Settings"
Go to "Labels" Tab and create a new label.
Tips: Just like an action, you can also create labels with relationship. This gives you more organization and flexibility in categorizing your actions.
Manage labels in Settings
Labels are shared across your workspace. To find or manage a label, open your profile menu and select Settings → Labels.
Use Search labels to find a label by name. Expand a parent label to see its child labels.
To create a label, select Create new label.
To edit an existing label, open its ⋯ menu and select Edit label. You can also click its colored label icon to change the color.
To delete a label, open its ⋯ menu, select Delete label, and confirm with Delete. This permanently deletes the shared label and cannot be undone; it is different from removing a label from one action.
Who can create, edit, or delete labels?
Workspace admins can edit or delete any label.
When label management is not restricted to admins, non-admins can edit or delete labels they created.
Creating labels requires label-creation permission. If your workspace restricts label creation and editing to admins, non-admins cannot create labels or edit or delete existing labels, including their own.
If Create new label is missing or the edit and delete controls are disabled, ask a workspace admin for help. These creation restrictions also apply when creating a label from an action card.
Parent and Child Label Relationship
For example, you can have a set of labels as:
Parent Label: Media Channels
Child Labels: Ad Hoc | SEO | Search | Social
Quickly add new labels from your tasks
You can also create new labels for your tasks without having to visit a separate modal outside of the action card. Simply press the blue + sign to the right of the "Label" section on your action card, and enter the name of the label you'd like to create.
If this label doesn't already exist, you'll be able to quick-create the label.
From there, you'll be asked to give your label a name and choose a color without leaving the card. You'll also be able to set a parent label as well as add your new label to projects!
Label View
You can easily add a Label view tab to your project to have a visualization on the number of actions under each label.
Go to a project, click on "+" button to create a new Tab
Select Label view, click Add, and you are good to go!
How to get the ID of your Label
At times, you may need the ID of your labels for a Hive Automate recipe or when working with another platform’s API. To retrieve these IDs, use the Get Labels API.
1. Open your API Info page in another tab
2. Open the Get Labels in Hive’s API Documentation
3. Enter your API_Key, User_ID, and Workspace_ID
4. Click “Try It!” Button
5. This should give a 200 Response and provide you the list of your Labels with their metadata (including the ID)
From here, you can copy the ID!
