If you're looking for an easy way to track progress toward your goals, the Goals app is what you need. To use it, you have to turn it on in your Apps first.

Creating your goal

After turning on the app, you'll be able to create your first goal. You can add such details as Name of your Goal, Owner, Time range, and Goal measurement.

It's possible to measure your goal based on Actions completed (automatic tracking based on action card completion) or Number (manual tracking and updating your goal).

If you want to track your goal based on completed or overdue actions, you'll get an option to choose either or individual actions as your progress source. From there, you'll be able to select your projects/actions as well as the parent goal if applicable (this new goal will be added as a sub-goal). If you go for 'Selected Actions', you'll see the checkbox to include subactions too. Lastly, you can display your goal as a Progress Bar (shows the percentage of completion) or Current Value (shows the current number of completed actions).

If you'd like to track your progress manually instead, you can select Number under Goal measurement and then add your Unit of measurement. Available options include Percentage, Currency, or your custom unit. Then you'll get to enter Initial value, Current value, and Goal value. You can also select your parent goal and choose the display type.

Viewing details and making edits

After creating your goal, click on it to see all the details and add or edit things like description, subgoals, projects, and more. Please keep in mind that if your goal is tracked based on completed actions, incomplete actions will always show up at the top.

You can also change the status of your goal. Hit 'Update status' and voila!

If you want to see your goal activity, scroll down a little bit and you'll be able to see it just beneath your subgoals. Click 'Show full history' to see it entirely.

When you need to reassign goal ownership to someone else, you can do it by clicking on the Owner dropdown.

The new assignee will get a notification like this:

Chart view

Another cool feature available in Goals is the ability to see your goal in Chart view. Click the 3 dots icon in the top right corner > Chart View to give it a try.

Additional functionality

From the same 3 dot menu, you can request status update on your goal (and subgoals) as well as delete it. Please note that once you delete a goal, it cannot be undone.
